BURTON, Christine Madeline (Spady) Christine Madeline Burton (Spady) gently slipped the bonds of earth May 5th, 2003. She is now reunited with her husband, Eugene who predeceased her in 1991. Christine was born in Norka, Russia on December 23, 1910. She immigrated with her large family to Stony Plain, Alberta. She married Eugene Burton in 1938. They raised six daughters who survive her and with their families will remember her with love. Her daughters are Betty Anne (Norman) Leaf, Joan Francis, Frances (Ian) McLachlan, Barbara (Don) Muir, Sandra (Ross) McLeod and Debbie Burton. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and their spouses as well as 11 great-grandchildren: Gordon and Lori Leaf (Alyssa, Nicholas), Susan and Chuck Johnstone (James, Stuart), Doug and Sharon Leaf (Rachel, Amanda), Bob and Isabelle (Alexander), Krista and Paul Poscente (Michael, Dana, Sophia), Allison and Gary Braun (Lucas), Doug McLachland and fiancee Christina, Heather McLauchlan, Duff McLeod and Bruce Muir. Christine is also survived by her youngest sister, Betty Heard; one brother, Bill Spady; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. There will be a Funeral Service at the Chapel of Howard & McBride Westlawn, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the 2nd Floor staff of the Good Samaritan Society - Mt. Pleasant for their love, care and compassion.
